Fabrizio Maria Carminati
DOMENICO FAMÀ. Conductor, composer, and classical guitarist, appreciated for his interpretative artistry capable of combining rigor with intense expressiveness, he is one of the most versatile and highly regarded musicians of his generation. He made his conducting debut in 2018 at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, and since 2020 he has been Music Director of the Orchestra da Camera Orfeo, Principal Conductor in Residence of ASAM at the Teatro Massimo Città di Siracusa, as well as a recording artist for the international labels Brilliant Classics (with which he released Music for Strings in 2022 and Romanza in 2024) and Da Vinci Publishing (Fragments de temps, 2021). For the latter, he is also a composer, with works distributed worldwide by Hal Leonard Europe. He trained in Milan, Vercelli, Cosenza, and Matera, graduating with top honors, distinction, and special mention. He has conducted in Italy and abroad for major institutions, maintaining ongoing collaborations with the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania (also as a composer), the Orchestra della Magna Grecia in Taranto (both symphonic and contemporary repertoire), the Orchestra Sinfonica Brutia in Cosenza, Fondazione Taormina Arte, the Opera Season of the Province of Lecce, I Solisti Lucani of Matera, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Vlora, Tirana, and Durrës, Emilia Romagna Concerti, the Festival Ville Vesuviane in Naples, and the Trecastagni International Music Festival. Since 2024 he has been a member of the Sibelius Society Italia and composes for EMA VINCI (Fantasia Belliniana, BIC 2025) and Edizioni Eleutheria (Ave Maria, Mysterium Festival 2026). Since 2023 he has served as assistant conductor to Fabrizio Carminati, Giacomo Sagripanti, and Salvatore Percacciolo. He is currently a faculty member at the Conservatorio G. Paisiello in Taranto. Among the figures who have contributed to the development of his career are Gilberto Serembe, Angelo Gilardino, Fabrizio Carminati, György Ráth, Pablo Varela, and Daniele Agiman.
